Course Overview

What do self-driving cars, face recognition, web search, industrial robots, and tumor detection have in common?
They are all complex real world problems being solved with applications of intelligence (AI).
This course will provide a broad understanding of the basic techniques for building intelligent computer systems and an understanding of how Artificial Intelligence is applied to problems.
You will learn about the history of AI, intelligent agents, state-space problem representations, uninformed and heuristic search, game playing, logical agents, and constraint satisfaction problems.

Key Takeaways

1
Understand the concepts related to AI
2
Describe the Artificial Intelligence applications
3
Analyze and conclude the impact of Artificial Intelligence
4
Describe the current state of AI and the future trends
5
Discuss about applications of AI (Natural Language Processing, Robotics/Vision)

Course Outline

Module 1
Module Description

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
Understanding different terminologies for nontechnical people
What is Artificial Intelligence?
What are the various types of AI?
What are the various subfields of Artificial Intelligence
What are the main aims of AI in our real world and in the developed countries?Application of Artificial Intelligence in real life
History of Artificial Intelligence | Timeline

Non Technical Exercise

using our mobile phones, we will use an application developed by Google that allows us to create our own Face Recognition system without any coding and without any technical skills. We will be able to teach the computer, using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, 3 different facial expressions. After that, our system will be able to differentiate between these 3 expressions. Moreover, we will link our result to a Text-To-Speech algorithm in which our system will play a sound based on the expression provided

Module 2
Module Description

What’s the difference between Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Neural Networks
Machine Learning: Basic concepts, linear models, perceptron, K nearest neighbors

Group Work and Discussion

Let’s suppose you were driving a car and there was a truck in front of you, a motorcycle on your right, and a car on your left. The truck in front of you suddenly stops. As a human being, what would you do? Will you brake immediately? Will you steer right and hit the motorcycle and risk his life?

Video

We are going to watch the latest Artificial Intelligence algorithms implemented in cars to see how AI can help save a life and reduce cost.

Machine Learning: advanced models, neural networks, SVMs, decision trees and unsupervised learning
Module 3
Module Description

Markov decision processes and reinforcement learning
Logical Agent, propositional logic and first order logic
AI Applications (NLP)
AI applications (Vision/Robotics)

Non Technical Exercise

Using our mobile phones, we will create a simple, yet efficient, chatbot that uses AI which is going to respond to people based on Machine Learning techniques. We will connect this chatbot to a Facebook page and ask a normal user to try it

Group Work and Discussion

The trainer will present on the screen 30 services that are available in our daily life and we will classify them based on AI and NON AI services. Later on, we will discuss how we can enhance the non AI services so they include Artificial Intelligence

Module 4
Module Description

What are the main challenges of Artificial Intelligence?
Future of Artificial Intelligence in top countries
What is the Artificial Intelligence strategy for KSA and its plan

Video

We will see the latest usages of Artificial Intelligence in Japan, China and KSA. We will learn how AI was able to increase the happiness level among citizens in their cities.
Artificial Intelligence Issues for us
How are companies using Artificial Intelligence?
Industry Growth and Projections: Before and After Artificial Intelligence
Top Programming Languages for Artificial Intelligence

Group Work and Discussion

The trainer will split the participants into groups. Every group is requested to write down 5 services that are available at their organization. After that, every team will start suggesting ideas on how to ameliorate these services using Artificial Intelligence
